Spirit: 3.1.3 Jailbreak, That Works!

An unexpected release of the software we’ve all been waiting for. A working 3.1.3 jailbreak! A developer by the name of Comex has finally done it. Not only does it jailbreak 3.1.3 firmware, but it is also an untethered jailbreak for 3rd generation iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS and iPad. So your probably dying to know where to go and how to do it, so here it is.

Go to this link.
Once at the home page, scroll down to the download section. Select the download file according to which operating system you are running.
After completing the download, you can either double-click on the file, or right click and select “Open”.
A small window will open, select “Run”.
Once the program opens, wait a second or two to let it detect your device.Then, press the “Jailbreak” button and just wait.

It only takes a few seconds, and then your done.Wait until your device restarts and your done.

**TROUBLESHOOTING**

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you may get this error message.

To fix this problem, all you need to do is follow these easy steps:

Right-click on the “Spirit.exe” file and select the “Properties” option.
Once the “Properties” window opens, select the “Compatibility” tab.
In this tab, check the “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” square
Select Windows 95 and apply these settings.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 and enjoy!

Jailbreak 3.1.3 Coming Soon!

GeoHot, the jailbreak king, has reportedly been working on a jailbreaking software for the 3.1.3 firmware. Whether it is going to be an untethered hack, we are still unsure. What we do know is that, he is supposed to be releasing it around the release date of the iPad 3G, which is coming out May 7th 2010. It is said to be called “limera1n” and will most probably be the jailbreaking software for the iPhone 4.0.

So for those of you who just recently purchased an iPod touch/iPhone or made the mistake to upgrade, be strong. The end of this suffering is near!

Easiest way to JailBreak

Difficulty – Very easy |

DO NOT UPDATE TO FIRMWARE 3.1.3 or 4.0 beta!
CAUTION: Owners of new generation devices (iPhone 3GS and iPod 3g), MAKE SURE your SHSH is saved on Saurik’s (Cydia) server or you will not be able to Downgrade from 3.1.3 if you accidentally do so.

In order to have hacked games, themes and everything you want your iPod or iPhone to be or do, it must be Jailbroken.

The simplest software is called “Balckra1n”, to download it, go to www.blackra1n.com
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your operating system according to the logos(Windows or Mac)
A small window will open, click “Save File”.

When the download is complete, double click on it, and this screen should open.
Another small window will appear, click the “make it ra1n” button.
Now all you have to do is wait for you device to restart.
Once it has restarted the icon for black rain should be on the second page, click on it.
Wait for the installers to load
Select the first one, “Cydia”, a green check mark will appear
Then press the install button in the top right corner
Once you do that, a small bubble will appear saying that Cydia is downloading
Wait until that is complete, once it is the device will respring and voila! You now have Cydia Installer.

And there you have it, you can now have whatever you want thanks to this application.

If you cannot get past step 4 and you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7

Right click on “BlackRa1n”

Now select “Run as Administrator”
