The reason the title is Install0us with a 0 and not a o is because the creator of Installous 1.0, puy0, has gone independent. This tutorial is about install0us 2.5 since version 3.0 is not officially released. When it will be released, another tutorial will be made but for now this is what it is

After you have followed this tutorial, Go back to your Springboard and select the install0us icon

After the app loads, you will see a blank screen, 4 tabs at the bottom. (Browse, Downloads, Settings and About)

The Browse tab:

This tab will allow you to enter a URL and be able to browse websites that give out cracked IPA files (Games and Apps)

For example appulo.us/appdb.

You may also notice that there is a little icon that looks like a house. That is because you will be able to set your Home Page so that when you click on that icon it brings you back to the page you want. You will also find the forward and go back buttons and the refresh page button.

The Downloads tab:

When you find an app of game you want, you have to download it in order to install it. You can have multiples downloads at the same time if you want. When you are downloading a file, a little number on top of the tab will appear to tell you how many files you are downloading. Once it finished downloading, it will automatically install the app if it is set so in the settings tab.

If ever you want to access your IPA file through SSH, the files are stored in /var/mobile/Downloads.

There are 3 easy ways to delete an IPA file.

1. You can either set Automatic delete on in the settings tab. This will delete the IPA automatically when it is done installing. (We suggest turning it off and deleting the apps manually)
2. You can also click on the edit button on the top right of the Downloads tab and then click on the little red icons and finally press on delete.
3. One last way to delete an app from the Downloads tab is by just swiping your finger on the app you want to delete and then select delete.

To reinstall an app if it is not deleted, just select the app and then select install

The Settings tab:

The Settings tab contains 3 different section.

1. Browser
2. Installation
3. Misc

In the Browser section you will find Home URL followed by “http://”
Here you can set your Home Page for the “Browser ” tab for example http://appulo.us/appdb

In the Installation Section you will find:

1. Automatic Install
   • If set to On, Once an app has finished downloading, it will install it automatically
   • If set to Off, Once the Download is finished you will have to go to the Downloads tab, select your app and then click on Install
2. Automatic Delete
   • If set to On, After the file has finished installing, it will immediately delete the downloaded file
   • If set to Off, You will have to manually delete the file, you will then have a backup of the installation if ever you change something the app and it doesn’t work anymore.

In the Misc Section you will find:

1. iTunes Sync
   1. If set to On, When you are going to plug your iPod to your computer, iTunes will ask you if you want to Transfer Purchases. This is completely safe to do and by doing it, if ever you need to restore your device, after jailbreaking your device and patching it, you will be able to sync all the apps back
   2. If set to Off, no apps will be transfered to the computer and if ever you have to restore and jailbreak your device, you will have to install all your apps manually.

The About Tab:

Here you will find all the latest news and updates for install0us, links to the creators forum and more.

Features:

1. The Solitaire Background is now fixed ( The solid green background is back!)
2. The stopwatch and the lock background is now back and fixed (brushed metal!)
3. The 4-bit color font change is now included!
4. The white squares in the legal section are now fixed!
5. The white frame at the bottom of now playing is now fixed!
6. The titlebar will now be placed good
7. It will never reboot by itself!

There are some extra resources that you can add yourself later on

1. Remove Solitaire Background (replaces with the normal background).
2. Remove Stopwatch Background (replaces with the normal background).
3. Remove Screenlock Background (replaces with the normal background).

How to install:

1. Download the firmware and extract it to your desktop
2. Open iPodwizard and in the dropdown menu select “firmware” then select “Load firmware” and select the firmware.



3. Now modify what you want. For example: Themes, Font color, Strings, Resources etc.
4. You are now done. click on “Write” and then “eject”

Other PS: when installing these firmware, it might delete the bootloader. So you will have to install it again

How to add multiple background

24322 is the default background picture at index 140, which you have to edit and add the second background at the right left corner.
14015 is the clock (?) at index 7. You have to load your now playing background there.
It will add this missing corner.

Now you have to edit left, top and right values to get these images to right place

# Select ID 24322
# Scroll this window to right, so you could see “left”, “top” and “right” values.
# Click on 83 and change it to -144. It is the left value. (It means how many pixels from left side of the screen)
# Click on 6 and change it to -126. It is the top value.
# Scroll back, select ID 14015
# Scroll this window to right, so you could see “left”, “top” and “right” values.
# Click on 0 (top value) and change it to -23
# Click on -7 (right value) and change it to -144
# Open Pictures tab
# Load your backgrounds to Index 140
# Load now playing background to Index 7
# Press write to iPod button, eject and enjoy!

Almost any game these days come with cheats in order to make us have more fun, to help us a specific level or just to finish the game in a breeze

The iPod video games also have cheats and here they are

Texas Hold ‘em Cheats:

1. Go to the “Options” menu and select “New Player”
2. Enter the cheat code you wish to use.
3. Go to the check-mark button and hold down the iPod’s center button.
4. The word “Secret” will appear across the screen.

Codes:

YOUCHEAT – Brings up a secret menu that gives you 5 cheating options

1. Unlock all tournaments
2. Start with 100k
3. Always show tells
4. Show down cards
5. Adjusting the “All Fold” to often, normal or never.

ALLCHARS – Allows you to see secret characters

BARTUNES – iTunes bar interface

THREEAMI – Apple conference room interface

BIGROCKS – Stonehenge tournament

PLAYDOGS – Tournament with dogs

SPACEACE – Futuristic tournament with aliens.

Vortex Cheats:

1. Exit all games and go to the main menu of the game
2. Go to the “Personal Info” tab
3. Select “Rename” and type in one of the codes below.
4. Hold down the center button until the cheat activates. A “Cheat On” message should appear

Note: The underscores in the codes below stand for spaces

Codes:

ME_PAZ – Activates the laser power-up

I_GUNZ – Activates the gun power-up

FORSIX – Gives you 24 lives

_PWR_B – Activates the Powerball

NO_ID_ -  Unlocks special backgrounds

This will install the perfect background hack on your iPod

Features:

How to install

1. Download the Firmware to somewhere you will remember (Desktop preferred)

For 5G Video: The New Firmware Update 1.2.2

For 5.5G Video: The New Firmware Update 1.2.2

2. Make sure your iPod is plugged to your computer
3. Open iPodWizard (right-click + run as administrator if on Vista or 7)
4. Open iPodwizard and in the dropdown menu select “firmware” then select “Load firmware” And select the firmware.



5. Modify what you want IE: Themes, Font color, Strings, Resources etc.
6. When you are done, just click on “write to iPod” and wait until it finishes writing the firmware on your iPod
7. When its done, just click on the eject button and wait until it reboots!

Note: When installing these firmwares, it might delete the Bootloader. You might have to install it again

Follow step 1 to 8

This is the simplest tutorial on installing ipod linux on your 5G or 5.5G

Alright get ready

1. Download this file
2. Unzip the file
3. Now Double-Click on the iPodLinuxManager folder
   
4. Double-Click the iPodLinux Manager.bat file



5. This window will pop-up and click on Next



When clicking on Next you might encounter some ERRORS , If you do:

1. Make sure your iPod is plugged
2. Keep pressing Retry and it should work

6. This command prompt window should appear and it should add a lot of files to your iPod



7. When it is done click on Finish



8. When it is done rebooting Select iPodLinux wait until it loads

How to Install Extra Modules (Programs/Games)

To go see the modules,

1. Make sure your iPod is plugged
2. Click on start

4. Find your iPod
5. Double-Click on the userland folder
   
6. Double-Click on the modules folder

1. Make sure your iPod is plugged
2. Click on start
3. My computer
4. Find your iPod
5. Double-Click on iplconfig
   
6. Open the file called modules_enable.txt and in there type the name of the module you want to install (The name of the module is the same as the modules folder in the userland/modules)

“Ie: lets say there is a module in the modules folder called avalanche2939 in the modules_enable.txt you will have to write avalanche2939″

OR you can open the readme file in the iplconfig folder and follow it

Installing Schemes (Themes)

The iPodLinux scheme website is currently not working so you cant download any scheme but here is a tutorial on how to add them

1. Go to the official scheme site
2. Download a scheme you like.
3. Extract it to somewhere you will remember
4. Go to the userland folder in your iPod
5. Double-Click on the Schemes folder
6. Drag and drop the extracted scheme to this folder.
7. Make your iPod go into Linux mode
8. Go to Settings>appearance>Color Scheme> your scheme

How to Remove the MPD/MPDC Error When iPodLinux Starts

Mpd and Mpdc are music and video playing modules for ipod linux. Unfortunately, they do not always work on ipod videos. With Apple OS and Rockbox, you don’t really need it. follow the short list below to remove the pointless function

1. Go to your ipod root and open the folder “iplconfig” then go to “modules_disable.txt” and open it with notepad
2. Type the following:
   mpd
   mpdc
3. Make sure you pushed enter so that each is on its own line
4. Save the changes and exit.
5. Reboot your iPod and open iPodLinux to test. When it is loading, you shouldn’t get the MPD/MPDC error anymore.

How to uninstall iPodLinux

Just go into your iPod root and delete the folders related to iPodwizard. MAKE SURE NOT TO DELETE ANY OTHER you might delete precious information

The folders to delete are

userland, sbin, proc, iplconfig, etc, dev, and linux.bin

and thats it!

DO NOT UPDATE TO FIRMWARE 3.1.3 or 4.0 beta!
CAUTION: Owners of new generation devices (iPhone 3GS and iPod 3g), MAKE SURE your SHSH is saved on Saurik’s (Cydia) server or you will not be able to Downgrade from 3.1.3 if you accidentally do so.

In order to have hacked games, themes and everything you want your iPod or iPhone to be or do, it must be Jailbroken.

1. The simplest software is called “Balckra1n”, to download it, go to www.blackra1n.com
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your operating system according to the logos(Windows or Mac)
3. A small window will open, click “Save File”.



4. When the download is complete, double click on it, and this screen should open.
   
5. Another small window will appear, click the “make it ra1n” button.
   
6. Now all you have to do is wait for you device to restart.
7. Once it has restarted the icon for black rain should be on the second page, click on it.
   
8. Wait for the installers to load
   
9. Select the first one, “Cydia”, a green check mark will appear
   
10. Then press the install button in the top right corner
    
11. Once you do that, a small bubble will appear saying that Cydia is downloading
    
12. Wait until that is complete, once it is the device will respring and voila! You now have Cydia Installer.
    

And there you have it, you can now have whatever you want thanks to this application.

If you cannot get past step 4 and you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7

1. Right click on “BlackRa1n”
   
2. Now select “Run as Administrator”
