I know following the tutorials is nice and all but sometimes it seems that it just doesn’t want to work! Sometimes you need help from somebody who knows the subjects and has to be there at the same time as you to be able to guide you. .DEB files are the files Cydia uses to install the package you want. Sometimes  though, cracked Cydia apps appear and the only way to install them is by installing the .DEB file directly from Terminal, iFile or the Cydia autoinstall feature.

First method: Directly from Terminal

1. Install Terminal from Cydia or if your Cydia is broken, download this and put it in /Applications or /var/stash/Applications.xxxxx (Make sure to chmod Terminal.app to 755 and respring)
2. If you already have your .deb file, access your device with your favorite SSH Client of with iPhoneBrowser and go to /var/mobile
   1. If you don’t know what SSH is, just take a look at this tutorial



3. Drop your .Deb file here
4. Open Terminal from your SpringBoard



5. Type
   1. su (Press enter)

   

   2. alpine (or your ssh password and press enter)

   

   3. You are now logged in as root
6. Type dpkg -i yourdebfilename.deb



7. Let it install.



8. When it is done Respring or reboot your iPod

Second Method: iFile

1. If you have iFile installed on your device
2. Make sure the .deb file is somewhere in your device as well
3. Open iFile and go to the directory where your .deb (mine is in / )



4. Simply select it
5. Select Installer



6. Let it install and respring or reboot

Third Method: Autoinstall Feature

1. If you already have your .deb file, access your device with your favorite SSH Client of with iPhoneBrowser and go to /var/root/Media/Cydia/Autoinstall (If Cydia folder and Autoinstall folder are not there make a new folder name Cydia and in that folder make another one named Autoinstall (Case Sensitive))
   
   1. If you don’t know what SSH is, just take a look at this tutorial
2. Drop your .Deb file in the Autoinstall folder
3. Reboot your device
4. Respring your device
5. Voila you are done

DO NOT UPDATE TO FIRMWARE 3.1.3 or 4.0 beta!
CAUTION: Owners of new generation devices (iPhone 3GS and iPod 3g), MAKE SURE your SHSH is saved on Saurik’s (Cydia) server or you will not be able to Downgrade from 3.1.3 if you accidentally do so.

In order to have hacked games, themes and everything you want your iPod or iPhone to be or do, it must be Jailbroken.

1. The simplest software is called “Balckra1n”, to download it, go to www.blackra1n.com
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your operating system according to the logos(Windows or Mac)
3. A small window will open, click “Save File”.



4. When the download is complete, double click on it, and this screen should open.
   
5. Another small window will appear, click the “make it ra1n” button.
   
6. Now all you have to do is wait for you device to restart.
7. Once it has restarted the icon for black rain should be on the second page, click on it.
   
8. Wait for the installers to load
   
9. Select the first one, “Cydia”, a green check mark will appear
   
10. Then press the install button in the top right corner
    
11. Once you do that, a small bubble will appear saying that Cydia is downloading
    
12. Wait until that is complete, once it is the device will respring and voila! You now have Cydia Installer.
    

And there you have it, you can now have whatever you want thanks to this application.

If you cannot get past step 4 and you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7

1. Right click on “BlackRa1n”
   
2. Now select “Run as Administrator”
