<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-649" title="dfmt3" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/dfmt3.png" alt="" width="461" height="22" /></p>
<blockquote><p>This tutorial will show you how to Change the boot logo on your iPod Video (The apple logo when your iPod boots)</p>
<p>Note: If you have a bootloader, it might not work because you might not be able to find the apple logo in the firmware.<br />
Also some custom firmwares may not have boot logos for you to change. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do.</p></blockquote>
<p>Alright</p>
<ol>
<li>Download iPodWizard 1.3</li>
<li>Load your iPod firmware by going on the dropdown menu on the top left and selecting ipod then load firmware.</li>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-234" title="ipwloading" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/ipwloading1.jpg" alt="" width="519" height="416" /></p>
<li> Go to the pictures Tab</li>
<li>Select the picture numbered 413</li>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-423" title="bootlogochange" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/bootlogochange1.png" alt="" width="519" height="416" /></p>
<li>Now find an boot logo that you like. (make sure the image size is 62px in width * 78px in height)</li>
<p>For this example we are going to use this one<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-272" title="bootlogo" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/bootlogo1.jpg" alt="" width="62" height="78" /></p>
<li>Now go back to iPodWizard and load the image by click on Load Bitmap</li>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-273" title="loadbitmap" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/loadbitmap1.png" alt="" width="519" height="416" /></p>
<li>Find the image you chose and press on Open</li>
<li>Now go to the Preferences tab and select &#8220;Reflash iPod firmware upon boot picture change&#8221;</li>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-274" title="preferences" src="http://www.ipodstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/preferences1.png" alt="" width="519" height="416" /></p>
<li>Press write then on eject and you are done!<br />
<blockquote><p><span style="color: #ff0000;">Note: iPodWizard might freeze</span>. If it does, follow these steps</p>
<ol>
<li>Wait about 1 or 2 minutes</li>
<li>Close iPodWizard</li>
<li>Unplug your iPod</li>
<li>Plug it back, your iPod is going to be reflashing</li>
</ol>
<p>And you are done!</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p>What is the IPL Bootloader?</p>
<p>The iPod Bootloader is a menu that will let you access extra options on your iPod.</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>For example you can install <a href="http://www.ipodstuff.org/?p=156" target="_blank">iPodLinux</a>, RockBox, iBoy, iGPSP, extra themes, Iarcnes and many others. When you install iPodLinux you automatically get a bootloader but the only options that come with it are</p></blockquote>
<blockquote>
<ol>
<li>Apple  OS (The original iPod operating System)</li>
<li>iPodLinux (Enables you to launch iPodLinux</li>
<li>Sleep (Puts your iPod in deep sleep. To turn on just press and hold menu + center)</li>
<li>Disk mode  (Same as when you press and hold center + Play when the iPod is connected. Useful when your computer cannot find your iPod)</li>
</ol>
<p>As I wrote earlier you can add even more options by editing the Bootloader file and here is how to do it.</p>
<p>Note this works with iPod Video 5G, 5.5G and Nano</p></blockquote>
<p>Thank to an example of a loader.cfg file provided by Y2KCPI1 I will show you how to edit the file. The file is called <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>loader.cfg</strong></span> and is located in the root of the iPod.</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="http://www.ipodstuff.org/?p=156" target="_blank">Make sure you installed iPodlinux</a></li>
<li>Make sure your iPod is plugged</li>
<li>Go to Start &gt; my computer &gt; &#8220;Your iPod&#8221;</li>
<li>Find the file name loader.cfg</li>
<li>Right-Click and open with Wordpad</li>
<blockquote><p>You will see something like this:<br />
#iPodLoader 2.5 config File</p>
<p>Apple OS @ osos</p>
<p>iPodLinux @ (hd0,1)/linux.bin</p>
<p>Sleep @ Standby (To Put The iPod To Sleep)</p>
<p>Disk Mode @ diskmode</p></blockquote>
<li>To add another menu option you must put the code in a new line</li>
</ol>
<h3>Here are all the option you can add/ modify</h3>
<blockquote><p><span style="color: #ff0000;">Note: All the menu choices for iPodLinux, Rockbox, iBoy, IArcnes etc are given in each of the respective tutorials.</span></p></blockquote>
