The game is on!

Hackulo.us has released a new version of Installous with many new features. It was probably because they want to gain more users and to turn the users that use install0us by Puy0, a former of Installous by hackulo.us.

First comes the design

The look and feel of Installous by hackulo.us has been completely revamped. They have made it almost identical to the AppStore which gives it a familiar look for easy navigation. It uses very brighter colors than the previous version which makes it easier to see while being exposed to the sun. The icon could be improved though.  The popups announcing new downloads and installs are also very attractive. Since apptrackr.org is actually implemented in the app, the picture scrolling

Install0us 2.5.2 by Puy0 also has a very good user interface. It uses dark colors which makes it look nice but it is hard to see under sun exposure. The popups announcing the downloads and installs are very  minimalistic and non-obstructive. The download bars are very big and has important information.

install0us by Puyo an 8.5/10

All in all, the decision on which one looks nicer is up to you.

General:

Something that install0us users will notice at first on Installous 3.1 is the lack of browsing other websites to get applications. It is limited to apptrackr.org which is a very big database of cracked apps. When installing apps with Installous 3.1, it brings a popup with all the links to download. It is better than to wait for the mobile version of apptrackr to load all the links. You can also select on the fly which way to browse your apps. Either by apps & updates, apps and popularity. All this can be done without necessarily going back to the home page of apptrackr.org

Installous by hackulo.us:

Pro’s:

1. Very nice way to download applications
2. Fast loading of the app pages
3. Fast selection of categories and on-the-fly switching
4. Browsing images is also faster (Less lag)

Con’s:

1. Not flexible in terms of browsing other websites.
2. Some images fail to load

install0us by Puy0 uses an actual browser which means that the pages load less fast than on Installous. One good thing about having a browser is that you can browse any website you want to find a missing application in apptrackr. The search speed using the mobile version of apptrackr is a tad slower than on the built in apptrackr.

install0us by Puy0:

Pro’s:

1. Flexible browsing to many different app sites
2. Ability to set a home page
3. Actually has a refresh button

Con’s

1. Slow loading of pages
2. Selection of different tabs which make                                                                                 s the loading time slower

Rating: 7.5/10

General Errors:

install0us by Puy0 barely has any errors. The only error we have encountered is that once in a while, the browser bar disappears which requires you to restart the application.

On the other hand, Installous by hackulo.us is still in beta so it still contains many errors. Some of them are:

1. The category icons in the browse tab usually disappear leaving you with only “All applications”
2. Sometimes the actual apps don’t load after selecting a category
3. Clearing the category and the icons cache doesn’t always work
4. There are some occasional crashing while installing apps or while browsing apps

Error wise, install0us by Puy0 has less bugs than Installous by hackulo.us. The only downside is that Puy0 has stopped the development of his application which means that 2.5.2 is the final version and will always contain that single problem. Installous by hackulo.us has a lot of room for improvement.

To conclude, install0us by Puy0 is much more stable than its competitor but since the development of the app is terminated hackulo.us can easily make it better than install0us. So, for now Puy0 wins the match with a 8.5 out of 10 beating hackulo.us which has 7/10

1. You will need to download Blackra1n if you don’t have it already
2. Download this patcher called BlackFreeze
   • BlackFreeze Download Link
3. Run the BlackFreeze (Run as administrator on vista and windows 7 to avoid problems)
4. This will show up
   
5. Simply click on “Fix my Ra1n!”
6. You well then need to locate the original blackra1n file you downloaded from blackra1n.com
   
7. When you located it, Press on open
   
8. BlackFreeze will then prompt you to choose a place to save the Fixed Blackra1n
   
9. Save it and voila! You are done and you can run BlackRa1n Whenever.
   

There are two ways of doing this.

1. If you already have a jailbroken device
2. Open Cydia and make sure you get this page
   
3. Once you get it, Just select “Make my life easier, Thanks!”
4. Now every time you are going to load Cydia you will have this at the top of the Cydia page
   

Doing this will store your SHSH file on Saurik’s (Cydia) server and will enable you to downgrade later on.

It’s not done yet. To be safe, Make sure to make a backup on your computer and this is how to do it.

2. Make sure that your device is in recovery mode
   1. Connect your device to the computer
   2. Press and hold the power + Home button until the “Connect to iTunes” logo appears
3. You also have to make sure you have Java Runtime installed on your computer. If you don’t, the second message your are going to get just press no and AutoSHSH is going to redirect to the download page.
   
4. Launch the AutoSHSH program – Make sure you have an Internet Connection (Windows Vista and Windows 7 launch the program as administrator)
   1. You will get these two messages
      
5. You will then get this main window
   
6. Again make sure that your device is in recovery mode and click on “Grab my SHSH Blobs automatically”
7. Once it finds your ECID, you will be prompted to save the SHSH file anywhere on your computer
   
   
8. Save it and you are done!
   

Now you are safe to accidentally update your firmware and to go back.

1. Using your favorite SSH client, or a way to access your device through USB or simply with iFile go to System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/English.lproj/
   
2. Find the file called SpringBoard.Strings
3. Backup up the file
4. Open it with a text editor
   
5. Now find any text you want, For example Slide to unlock
6. When you will find it, It will look like this

   “AWAY_LOCK_LABEL” = “slide to unlock”;

7. What you will now have to do is edit the “slide to unlock” part and NOT the “AWAY_LOCK_LABEL
8. Once you are done editing The Strings you want. Simply save the file and Respring.
   

When you are at your cottage, country house or anywhere you don’t have Wifi but you want to play a game with a friend that also owns an iDevice you can play games or send files to each other using a fake Wifi!

1. You will need to download MyWi from cydia. Make sure you download the No Rock version. You can get it from the Xsellize repo or you can use the download link below (This app should be installed on a device that HAS Bluetooth)

3. Make sure you turn on Bluetooth in the Settings App
   
4. Once you have installed it launch the application
5. You are now going to make your fake Wifi network using your bluetooth connection
6. In “Wifi Name”, change it to whatever you want. In this case, We called it Network Test
   
7. Leave the Wifi Channel as is. If ever you are having trouble connecting change the channel to another one and test again
8. You can add a security key if you don’t want anybody else to log in to your fake network
9. Make sure USB and Bluetooth is set to “On”
10. You can now turn on Wifi Tethering – At the bottom you will see (Status: MyWi Broadcasting “Network Test”)
    
11. Wait until the Wifi logo appears at the top of the status bar
    
12. On the other device, Go to Settings and Wi-Fi and select The network Name you chose. On the device where MyWi is running, You can close the app because it runs in the background
    
13. Wait for the Wifi logo to appear on the other device
14. You can now either play games together or transfer files using the Wifi transfer feature in iFile

For a while, the only utility for bluetooth on the iPhone was just to connect to a Bluetooth headset and that was practically it. With an App called iBlueNova, you can now share files between not only iPhones but any phone that has Bluetooth.

1. You will have to install iBlueNova. You can either get it from CydiaStore(Paid) or from any source(Xsellize, iSpazio etc) or the .deb file provided below.

3. Once you downloaded, Launch the app
   
4. Turn “Enable” On
   
5. If you want your device to be discoverable set “Visible” to On
   
6. Scroll down to the file manager part and select what you want to transfer
   1. Pictures
   2. Music
   3. Videos
   4. Other files
      
7. Browse through your files and select what you want to transfer
   
8. Select “Send to Device”
   
9. Choose the bluetooth device you want to send your file to
   
10. It’s going to connect and prompt the other device to accept. Once you accept the file will transfer!
    

1. You will need to install MultiExchange. You can by it on Cydia store or download it with the download link provided below or you can add the xsellize repo and download it off there.

3. When you are done you just go to Settings
4. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
   
5. Select Add Account
   
6. Now Select Exchange
   
7. You should now be able to add another account without having that annoying pop-up telling you that you can’t have two!
   

Caution This will erase EVERYTHING from your device. Be careful with this

1. Go on the settings application
   
2. Then go to General
   
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Reset
   
4. Now select “Erase All Content and Settings”
   
5. Finally you just click on Erase iPhone

For this tutorial you will need your iPod Touch or iPhone and a computer with your favorite SSH client or a way to access your iPhone through USB (iPhonefolders)

1. Go on Cydia
2. On your computer go to /var/cache/apt/archives
   
3. Now you have to buy or download an app from Cydia
   
4. Once the Download is done and it displays “Running Debian Packager”; refresh the page on your computer
   
5. You will then see the name of the file you downloaded with a .deb extension
   
6. Just right-Click and save on your desktop
7. You can now upload the file to a file sharing website such as Mediafire

First: gpSPhone (.GB, .GBC & .GBA emulator)

1. You will need to install gpSPhone and the Bios. You can either download it from the link below or get it from the BeYouriPhone repository

   1. After you are done installing the emulator, go to /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA/ and drag and drop the gba_bios.bin in that folder.
      
      1. If the folder ROMs or GBA does not exist, just create them but be careful the naming is case sensitive
3. You will now need to download ROMs for gpSPhone. You can google them but make sure the games have a .gb, .gbc, or .gba extension or else it will not work
4. Go back to /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA/ and drag and drop the rom file in there.
   
5. Open gpSPhone and your game should appear on the browser tab
   
6. Click on it and select your orientation and start playing!
   

Second: Snes4iPhone(7.0.0)

1. You will need to install Snes4iPhone. You can either download it from the link below or get it from the BeYouriPhone repository

3. This time you will not need to add a Bios so go ahead and use the integrated browser (on 7.0.0) on the top right (Search button) to find roms you need
   
   1. You can otherwise download ROM on your computer and put them in /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/SNES/  (The files should be either in a zip format or .sfc)
      
4. Once you are done installing the game, Launch the application: It should show up in Browser
   
5. Select the orientation and play!
   

Third: PSX4iPhone (PlayStation 1 Emulator)

1. You will need to install PSX4iPhone and the Bios. You can either download it from the link below or get it from the BeYouriPhone repository

      1. If the folder ROMs or PSX does not exist, just create them but be careful the naming is case sensitive
3. You will now need to download ROMs for PSX4iPhone. You can google them but make sure the games have a .img, .iso, .zip extension or else it will not work
4. Go back to /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/ and drag and drop the rom file in there.
   
5. Open PSX4iPhone and your game should appear on the browser tab
   
6. Click on it and select your orientation and start playing!
   

Fourth: Nes4iPhone (NES emulator)

1. You will need to install NES4iPhone. You can either download it from the link below or get it from the BeYouriPhone repository
